Tuesday the 13th October will see the club host the 23rd Annual Jubilee Rosebowl event for ladies.
Invitations have been sent to neighbouring clubs around the district to enter players in both the teams event and also the single events. A hotly contested teams event which draws in some of the best lady amateur golfers on the Downs in an effort to win the Rosebowl.
The teams event is once again sponsored by our long time member Mrs Norma Lovelace who was one of the ladies behind its inception many years ago.
Event two, the single event in four divisions is being sponsored by Len Patti Mitsubishi of Dalby.
The event draws enough interest from the surrounding district to see a number of ladies from the City club in Toowoomba make the trip recently to re-acquaint themselves with the course.
The many hours of work from the ladies organising committee will see another successfull event on the 13th .
Remaining with the ladies, our resident club professional Heath Garvey has recently conducted some clinics for ladies to fine tune their game. Some more are planned for the future and details of these can be obtained from Heath at the pro shop.
In men’s news, the BMO Accountants monthly mug held on Saturday the 3rd October saw Grant Arnold successfull in taking his first ever win in the event. Grant scored 76 nett 62 to win over Tony Doyle and Scott Cosgrove with nett 64’s. Despite the windy conditions a good roll out of players on the day supporting the year long sponsor BMO Accountants.
A programme change on the 18th October will see the scheduled 4 ball aggregate stroke event change to a 3 person ambrose event. The event will be sponsored by local rainwater tank specialists , Camel Tanks. Many thanks to Lorne and Caroline Bobart for their support of the club. We hope to see some rain in the near future to speed up the recovery of the greens after their annual renovations last month. They are coming in better than expected, but some showers will see them return in better shape, sooner.
