The club has received a much needed boost in securing a grant through the Community Gambling Benefit Fund to build a new buggy shed. The new shed which will house another 28 carts will be available to club members to store their carts. This project has been successfull mainly due to the efforts of club members Craig Brennan and Bill Baker. With assistance from the local authority, Western Downs Regional Council and also letters of support from club members the grant was submitted in August 2009 with high hopes of a successfull outcome. With the erection of the new shed it is hoped that the club will see an increase in player numbers in club competitions with players able to arrive and access their cart easily. The club has a large number of members carts already in storage and the ever increasing need for more space resulted in the submission being lodged. With this project completed the club will be able to move ahead with other planned changes with the funds previously allocated to the shed now available for other uses. |
